1. What this is about

This privacy policy applies to everyone who visits this website, reads our blog or receives our newsletter, to couples who use our services and to suppliers who work with us. It explains which personal data we process, why and for how long.

Personal data means any information relating to an identified or identifiable person, for example name, address, email address, phone number, date of birth or the IP address of a device. We process it in accordance with the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP).

2. Controller

Wedding Harmony Lucia Lazzaro
Lucia Lazzaro, owner
Herrenhofstrasse 34
9244 Niederuzwil
Switzerland
Email: lucia@weddingharmony.ch

Given our size, we are not required to appoint a data protection advisor and have therefore not done so.

3. Visiting this website and the blog

When you open the website, our hosting provider automatically stores technical information in server log files: IP address, date and time, the page requested and the amount of data transferred, the previously visited page, and your browser and operating system. We need this information to run the website securely and reliably. We do not use it to identify individual people.

Our hosting provider is METANET AG in Zurich. The website and its data are stored on servers in Switzerland. Fonts and images are loaded from this server, so no data is passed to third parties such as Google in the process.

The same applies to the blog. We do not offer a comment function.

4. Cookies and your consent

Cookies are small files stored by your browser. We set technically necessary cookies without asking, for example to store your choice in the cookie notice («cookiez-user-consent»). To document your consent, the provider of the cookie notice, Elementor Ltd. in Israel, stores your choice together with a random identifier, the country and the time.

We only use cookies and similar technologies for statistics and advertising (section 5) if you consent in the cookie notice. The Google services do load when you open the website, but without your consent they set no cookies and only send anonymous signals (Google Consent Mode). You can change or withdraw your choice at any time via the “Cookie settings” link at the bottom of every page. You can also delete or block cookies in your browser settings. Some features of the website may then only be available to a limited extent.

5. Advertising and performance measurement

We advertise, mainly on Google and on Instagram and Facebook. To measure whether this advertising works, and to show relevant ads later to people who have visited our website, we use the following services:

Google Analytics. Google Analytics shows us how our website is used, for example which pages are visited and how visitors find us. Google Analytics works with Google Consent Mode: without your consent in the cookie notice, it sets no cookies and only sends anonymous signals without an identifier, for example that a page was viewed. Only with your consent does it measure in full. The provider is Google Ireland Limited, Ireland, together with Google LLC, USA. Google receives, among other things, your IP address, information about your device and browser, the pages you visit and an identifier stored in a cookie (“_ga”). We only see aggregated reports, not information about individual people.

Google Ads. The Google tag tells us whether someone came to our website through an ad and then, for example, sent an inquiry (conversion tracking). It also allows us to show ads on Google again to visitors of our website (remarketing). The provider is Google Ireland Limited, Ireland, together with Google LLC, USA. Google receives, among other things, your IP address, information about your device and browser, the pages you visit and an identifier stored in a cookie. The Google tag for Google Ads also works with Google Consent Mode and sets no cookies without your consent. We only see aggregated reports, not information about individual people. You can adjust your ad settings with Google at myadcenter.google.com. More in Google’s privacy policy.

Meta Pixel. The Meta Pixel lets us measure the performance of our ads on Instagram and Facebook and show relevant ads there to visitors of our website. The provider is Meta Platforms Ireland Limited, Ireland, together with Meta Platforms, Inc., USA. Meta receives, among other things, your IP address, information about your device and browser, the pages you visit and an identifier stored in a cookie. If you are logged in to Instagram or Facebook, Meta can link the visit to your account. You can adjust your ad settings in your Instagram or Facebook account. More in Meta’s privacy policy.

Google Search Console. Google Search Console shows us which search terms lead people to our website in Google Search and whether there are technical problems. It does not set cookies on our website or collect data from you. Google only provides us with aggregated reports.

6. Inquiry form and email

If you contact us through the form or by email, we process your details to answer your inquiry: name, email address and, if you wish, phone number, preferred region, period, number of guests, the service you are interested in and your message. We need your name and email address so that we know who the inquiry is from and can reply. All other details are voluntary.

Form inquiries are sent to us by email and also stored on our website. We delete inquiries that do not lead to an engagement after 12 months at the latest.

7. Newsletter

If you subscribe to our newsletter, we need your email address and, if you wish, your first name. To make sure that only you can subscribe with your address, you first receive an email with a confirmation link (double opt-in). We store the time and IP address of your sign-up and confirmation so that we can prove the subscription.

We use a specialised newsletter service that processes the data on our behalf. Depending on the provider, data may also be transferred to the USA or other countries (see section 11). To improve the newsletter, we analyse whether and when a newsletter was opened and which links were clicked.

You can unsubscribe at any time via the link at the end of every issue or by emailing us. We then remove your address from the mailing list.

8. Planning your wedding

For an engagement, we process the information we need for the planning, for example names, addresses, contact details, dates of birth, dates as well as your wishes and personal information about the wedding.

Where necessary for the planning, we pass this information on to suppliers we engage for you, for example venues, photographers, florists, caterers or transport companies. They work in Switzerland and abroad, mainly in Italy and other EU countries. Beyond this, we do not pass your data on to third parties and do not use it for advertising without your consent.

9. Videos

On this website you can watch wedding films hosted on YouTube. YouTube is a service of Google (Google Ireland Limited, Ireland, and Google LLC, USA). The videos are embedded in privacy-enhanced mode and only load when you click «Watch the film». Only then does your browser connect to YouTube, and Google receives, among other things, your IP address and the page you are visiting. If you are logged in to YouTube at the same time, Google can link the visit to your account.

10. Social networks

We link to our profiles on Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn and YouTube. These are simple links, not embedded plugins. Data is only transferred to the network concerned when you click a link. If you visit our profiles or interact with us there, the privacy policy of the provider concerned also applies. The providers give us aggregated statistics, for example on the reach of our posts.

11. Transfers abroad

Some of the recipients mentioned are based abroad, mainly in the EU and the USA. The Swiss Federal Council has recognised the EU countries as providing adequate data protection. For recipients in the USA, we rely on the Swiss-U.S. Data Privacy Framework where the recipient is certified, and otherwise on the standard contractual clauses recognised by the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC).

12. Disclosure to authorities

We only disclose personal data to authorities and public bodies if we are legally obliged to do so or a court orders it.

13. Minors

We do not knowingly process data of minors without the consent of their parents or guardians. If we learn that such data has been submitted without consent, we delete it immediately.

14. Your rights

You can ask us at any time which personal data we process about you. You can ask us to correct inaccurate data or delete your data, and you can object to processing. You can withdraw any consent you have given at any time with effect for the future. Please write to lucia@weddingharmony.ch or to the postal address above.

If you believe that we are not processing your data correctly, you can lodge a complaint with the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC).

15. Deletion

We delete personal data as soon as we no longer need it for the purpose for which we received it. Where statutory retention obligations apply, for example for business records, we block the data and delete it when the retention period expires. If you withdraw your consent during an ongoing engagement, we delete the data once it has been completed.

16. Security

We protect your data with appropriate technical and organisational measures. The connection to this website is encrypted. We cannot guarantee complete security for emails. For very confidential information, we therefore recommend using the post.

17. Changes

We update this privacy policy when our website, our services or the legal requirements change. The current version on this page always applies.
